Uyghurs are amongst the most forgotten communities in the world. You will never see them mentioned in mainstream media. Please go ahead and google Uyghurs and you will understand why. Droplets of Mercy is the leading charity supporting the Uyghur Refugees and it is only possible with your continued support. 

This project is supported by many other Scholars and is being conducted in collaboration with Droplets of Mercy, Blue Crescent Humanitarian Organization and Satuq Bughrakhan Foundation for Science and Civilization.

THE UYGHUR COMMUNITY IN TURKIYE

There are an estimated 60,000-100,000 Uyghurs settled throughout Turkiye. They have all escaped extreme religious and cultural persecution to seek refuge. The vast majority are women and children without husbands or fathers, without stable income, living below the poverty line and in dire need of the most basic resources. This is the harrowing reality for over a million Uyghur men, women, and children. Displaced from their homes, torn from their families, with many children forced into boarding schools to erase their Uyghur Muslim identity. Fathers disappear, leaving behind families clinging to hope.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

Droplets of Mercy collaborates with Blue Crescent (a local NGO in Istanbul) to give out food kits to Uyghur widows on an ongoing basis. We are the largest supporter of the Uyghur community in Istanbul.
In 2023 alone, our team visited the Uyghur refugees twice, witnessing firsthand the critical need for support. Our vision? To purchase a building that will serve as a lifeline for the Uyghur community:
▶️  Food Bank to nourish bodies and souls.
▶️  A Training Facility where Uyghur widows can learn sewing and more, crafting a new beginning.
▶️  An Education Centre for Uyghur children, a sanctuary of learning and hope

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve already allocated an impressive $1.5 million towards this project. But our story isn’t finished. We need your help to secure the remaining funds to bring this vision to life, to give the Uyghur community a place where they can thrive, not just survive.

Here’s a more detailed overview of our urgent initiatives:

1. Orphan’s Educational Center:

• Comprehensive Learning: Offering early and basic non-formal education in key subjects like Turkish, English, Maths, Science, and Arts.
• Holistic Support: Includes counseling, hygiene, life skills training, and mental health workshops, prioritizing children with disabilities.
• Innovative Learning: Utilizing tools like Google Meets and Zoom for interactive education, supplemented with school-in-a-box kits.

2. Vocational Training:

• Skill Development: Courses in sewing, IT training, and coding to equip Uyghur adults for employment or entrepreneurship, fostering self-sufficiency.

3. Food Program:

• Nutritional Support: Providing ongoing food assistance to families and establishing a food bank to ensure healthy diets.

Each project is designed to offer immediate relief and long-term empowerment to the Uyghur community. Your support is critical in bringing these urgent initiatives to life.
